Wānanga Connect is a kaupapa designed to make it easier for whānau to find, share and participate in wānanga, while providing a dedicated online space to support the delivery of wānanga.
Across Aotearoa, incredible wānanga are happening within marae, communities, organisations and kaupapa Māori spaces. Yet finding out what is available or reaching the whānau who may benefit from them is not always easy.
Wānanga Connect was created to help bridge that gap.
Our platform brings together two sides of the wānanga journey:
Discover Wānanga
We help whānau discover wānanga, kaupapa and learning opportunities that support connection, mātauranga, identity, wellbeing and growth.
By bringing opportunities together in one place, our aim is to make wānanga more visible and accessible to the whānau looking for them.
Share & Promote Wānanga
Wānanga Connect gives marae, kaiako, kaupapa Māori organisations and wānanga providers a space to promote their kaupapa and connect with whānau who are interested in participating.
Whether it is a one-day kaupapa, a series of wānanga or an ongoing programme, we want to make it easier for kaupapa to reach the communities they were created for.
Support Wānanga Online
Wānanga Connect also provides a dedicated online learning portal where wānanga can be supported beyond the physical space.
The portal can provide a central place for participants to access resources, recordings, videos, workbooks, learning materials and other content connected to their wānanga.
Rather than replacing kanohi ki te kanohi learning, technology becomes another tool to support connection, accessibility and continuity helping whānau stay connected to their learning wherever they are.
